5.1. Known Issues & Future Developments

5.1.1. Known Rendering Defects/Issues

Note: If there are issues not listed under this section, report it to Digital Health Standards

5.1.1.1. SDC IG Link Behavior

The links to the Structured Data Capture (SDC) Implementation Guide currently point to the latest continuous build version. These will be updated to reference the official release of SDC version 4.0 once it is published.

5.1.1.2. Terminology – Mime Types ValueSet

  • There is a known issue with the Mime Types ValueSet where the associated CodeSystem does not include the complete list of expected MIME type codes. This is currently under investigation and will be addressed in the next release.
  • Ontario Health will be introducing a centralized MIME Types ValueSet for eForms (to standardize allowable attachment media types across implementations). The ValueSet content is not yet finalized in the current publication and will be updated in the next release of this Implementation Guide.

5.1.1.3. Example Validation Errors – Inter-version Extensions

Some example validation errors are currently expected and are related to inter-version extensions. Resolving these errors requires an updated inter-version extensions package (and an official SDC release that depends on it). Since this dependency will not be available for a few weeks, the current publication will proceed with these known validation errors. These examples will be revalidated and updated in a subsequent release once the required packages are available.

5.1.1.4. Validator Limitations

Some validation results may be impacted by known issues in the official validator tooling. These issues are external to this IG and are expected to be resolved soon. Where validator output conflicts with the IG’s intended constraints, Ontario Health will reassess and revalidate once the tooling updates are available.

5.1.2. Future Developments

5.1.2.1. Allowed XHTML Content (Impact on Vendor CSS)

Ontario Health is expected to provide future guidance on what XHTML content may be included in rendering-xhtml nodes within Questionnaires (and any related rendered output). This will help vendors understand what markup patterns they must support and how it may affect local CSS and presentation.

This guidance is not finalized for the current release and will be addressed in a future revision of this Implementation Guide.

5.1.2.2. Example Rendering Refinements

Some of the current examples may still exhibit minor rendering issues. For this release, the primary intent of the examples is to ensure they are:

  • compliant with the published profiles, and
  • aligned with legacy Ontario form behavior

Additional refinement of rendering behavior and example presentation will be addressed in the next release as part of ongoing improvements.
