This profile represents the constraint applied to the CodeableConcept data type by the PS-CA project to use the [PS-CA Coding](http fhir.infoway-inforoute.ca io psca StructureDefinition Coding-ca-ps) data type profile in a way that is informed by the constraints of the [CodeableConcept IPS-UV profile](http hl7.org fhir uv ips StructureDefinition-CodeableConcept-uv-ips.html) but removes the overarching expectation that all patient summary creators must demonstrate they can support codings for conformance.

It reflects the expectation that systems are compliant if they process and represent medication codes according to the specified coding systems and ensure that a textual description is always present.

This profile mandates presence of system and code elements (for medication use-case). It also raises awareness of the FHIR Core [translation](http hl7.org fhir StructureDefinition translation) standard extension. This profile is informed by the constraints of the [IPS-UV Coding](http hl7.org fhir uv ips StructureDefinition-Coding-uv-ips.html) profile.

This profile represents the constraints applied to the Observation resource by the PS-CA project to represent a more generic social history profile used to represent health related lifestyle factors or lifestyle observations in a patient summary. Currently there is no equivalent IPS UV profile however there are ISO CEN IPS 17269 requirements for a more generic social history section that were used to inform this profile. This profile is considered a draft version and is informed and created as per the requirements of the first jurisdiction (i.e. Alberta) to pilot its use in patient summary within jurisdictional context. The constraints have been compared against other Social History FHIR profiles in Canada and internationally (US Core Cyprus Core Malaysia Core) and share many constraints in common with those profiles but represent the minimum requirements as they are known in Canada today. This profile is expected to be refined further as more jurisdictional requirements are defined and as more is known about use in the international patient summary space.

This profile represents the constraints applied to the PractitionerRole resource by the PS-CA project to represent a practitioner in a role acting as an observer for observation results for a specified organization. It is informed by the constraints of the [PractitionerRole IPS-UV profile](http hl7.org fhir uv ips StructureDefinition-PractitionerRole-uv-ips.html) and the [Canadian Baseline Profile](http build.fhir.org ig HL7-Canada ca-baseline branches master StructureDefinition-profile-practitionerrole.html) to allow for cross-border and cross-jurisdiction sharing of details that support Diagnostic Result Information.

This profile represents the constraints applied to the Practitioner resource by the PS-CA project to represent a practitioner acting as observer for diagnostic results. It is informed by the constraints of the [Practitioner IPS-UV profile](http hl7.org fhir uv ips StructureDefinition-Practitioner-uv-ips.html) and the [Canadian Baseline Profile](http build.fhir.org ig HL7-Canada ca-baseline branches master StructureDefinition-profile-practitioner.html) to allow for cross-border and cross-jurisdiction sharing of details that support Diagnostic Result Information. This profile may be underpinned by a CA Core profile in the future. There is a possibility it will be replaced entirely by a CA Core profile if the requirements for use in lab are aligned to expectations for generic use.
